On a typical Sunday evening, the sermon is part of an ongoing series dedicated to teaching through a book of the Bible. While we do occasionally devote time to address more topical concerns, we are committed to an expository approach. We believe this allows us to read diverse biblical texts in their proper historical, literary, and canonical context. It also provides us with the opportunity to wrestle with some of the more difficult passages in the Bible that, left to our own devices, we may be tempted to leave unaddressed.
Previous sermon series have included the book of Colossians, Jonah, 1 Timothy, Ruth, the Gospel according to Mark, select passages from Psalms, Isaiah 40-55, Exodus 1-15, Galatians, and topical studies on justice, rest, the spiritual disciplines, women in the Bible, and the theology of the Nicene Creed.
We are currently studying the book of Hosea.
